Hennie’s experience include working at Melville Douglas (a division within Standard Bank) as a buy-side analyst servicing the bank’s high-net-worth clients, at Online Share Trading (a division within Standard Bank) as a sell-side analyst servicing the bank’s retail clients and at SBG Securities (a division within Standard Bank) as a sell-side analyst servicing the bank’s institutional clients. He subsequently managed hedge fund money at Peregrine Capital and both long-only and hedge fund money at 36ONE Asset Management.
Hennie obtained an honours degree in accounting from the University of Johannesburg and is a Chartered Accountant and a CFA® charterholder. He passed the South African Institute of Chartered Account’s (SAICA) final qualifying exam with honours, finishing first in the country. He qualified as a winemaker (with honours) and a Cape Wine Master in Stellenbosch, prior to pursuing a career in finance.
Ruan was a deal team associate at private equity firm Phatisa, investing in agriculture and real estate developments across the African continent. Prior to this he worked at Standard Bank as head of finance of the African wealth division and as a deal originator in the African real estate division.
Ruan obtained an honours degree in accounting and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of South Africa and is a Chartered Accountant.
